Transport

Transport provides a vital link for people in our Shire to access social and recreational activities and medical care, locally and across the region.

Namoi Care Connect provides friendly, personal and caring transport for members of the local community, who are transport disadvantaged and who live in the Narrabri Shire.  Transport can be provided for individuals and groups.  Individual transport is mainly provided by volunteers, who give of their time to support our local community.

While we are able to provide some transport at short notice, we usually require a minimum of 48 hours notice for individual transport.  Group transport requires a minimum of 14 working days notice.  This gives staff time to make appropriate arrangements for your journey.

Community Transport Program

Eligibility for the Community Transport Program is determined by Transport for NSW.  To be eligible to receive transport assistance through this program you must require a transport service for a medical, social, recreational or shopping purpose and not be eligible to receive transport services under any other government program and have limited access to private or public transport due to location, travel time, financial resources or physical or cognitive capacities.

  • On demand transport provided by us
  • Fortnightly bus services between Wee Waa and Tamworth and Gwabegar and Narrabri
  • Taxi vouchers
  • Emergency Fuel Assistance Scheme
  • Bus hire for groups
  • Subsidised bus and train tickets
